The Truth

There's a story of a young believer who loved God, spent generously for kingdom expansion, and worked tirelessly for the growth of his local church. Along the way, he denounced Christ for one reason: one of his siblings fell ill. He prayed, fasted, and begged God to save his sick sibling, but the person died. He then concluded that if his perayer wasn't answered, it meant there was no God. All attempts to bring him back to faith seemed unfruitful.

The scripture in the book of Isaiah says, "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." (Isaiah 43:2 KJV).

The scripture mentions, "When thou passest through the waters... and through the rivers..." I feel these are like stages in someone's life, perhaps reflecting the depth of a person's situation.

Here's the truth you need to know: Christianity is not a religion but a life, and that life can attract many problems. It's not always rosy. You can be insulted, mocked, ridiculed, and even lied about, but you should not be afraid because it's something all believers will go through.

I know there's always a season of joy, blessings, and good tidings, but you need to know that there's also a time of lack, a time of tears. In fact, scripture says, "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." (Ephesians 6:16 KJV). It mentions fiery darts.

Even King David, the man after God's own heart, said, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death." What David was going through was a shadow. Believers are bound to face troubling circumstances, but your saving grace during those times is your belief, faith, and how much knowledge you have about the scripture.

So, when issues arise that bring tears to your eyes, cry if you must, but never forget to remind Him of His Words over your life, whether it's about health, finances, marriage, or education. God is able to fix it, so ask Him for whatever you need. He's able to provide.

Remember that life's challenges do not negate God's presence or His promises. They are part of the journey of faith, testing and strengthening your trust in Him. Hold fast to your faith, lean on the scriptures, and believe that in every trial, God is with you, ready to bring you through to the other side.
