Last week, I defined the word "Hurt" and explained a few things about it. Today, I will be sharing how hurt turns into pain.
What is Pain?
Pain is the discomfort or suffering that you experience when confronted with negative feelings such as hurt, sadness, fear, anger, shame, or disappointment. These feelings can be triggered by a variety of events or circumstances such as rejections, breakups, personal loss, or traumatic experiences.
Pain can be deep-rooted and difficult to overcome, but you must ensure that you do not dwell too long on it. It is important to overcome it.
How Hurt Turns to Pain
1. When hurt is not dealt with properly, it can grow, leading to pain.
2. Hurt can turn into pain when it accumulates over time, especially if you have been hurt by different people.
3. Keeping your hurts to yourself without dealing with them can also lead to pain.
4. Trying to deal before healing is a mistake. You must heal first before you deal.
5. Blaming yourself for the hurt, especially if you think you deserve it, can make it worse.
6. Constantly reading hurtful messages or memes that talk about hurt can weigh you down rather than inspire you.
7. Pain lingers when you refuse to move on from the hurt.
8. Not having someone to talk to can also make your hurt turn into pain.
You cannot bear your hurt alone. Find someone to talk to, whether it's a spiritual leader, mentor, or a trusted friend. Talk to someone who won’t judge you or someone you know you can open your heart to.
Don't keep your hurt to yourself, it will break you.
Now that you know how hurt can turn into pain, I will be writing on how to deal with hurt in the next series.
You are stronger than you think, and your resilience will see you through. You got this. You can do it.
Stay tuned for the next part of this series.
